My peddle is 50% on startup and after a few miles the pressure on the peddle increases and the breaks will not release and get hot. after i park it they will release, any help troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe air in your lines, possible master cylinder going bad, or even a weak power booster.  Have you tried to bleed your brakes?  Just a few things off the top of my head.  I know on my 72, the last part of the brake system we replaced was the power booster.  I was only getting about 50% pressure to the brakes, before I replaced it.

Each time I had that problem, one or more of my rubber lines to a caliper is acting like a one way valve from the inside coming apart and restricting the return flow.  Also I have had the adjustable rod between the master cylinder and booster adjusted too long after doing a swap.  The pressure will bleed off after the car sits for a few minutes with either of these conditions.

My 69 did the same thing. It was caused by rust in the master cylinder. I was able to take off the MC cap and remove the rust with a pin. If you take of the cap you will see that the small hole in the bottom of the MC is rusted shut. When the pressure builds up if you don't want to wait for it to cool down you can release the pressure in the MC by cracking the line that is comming off the side of the MC. You should have 2 lines-it will be one of them. Good luck. You are probably in for callipers as well. When rust forms in the MC it means it is in the calipers as well. You can tell by inspecting the brake pads. More than likely you will see brake fluid leaking onto the pads.

Sounds to me like you have some moisture contamination. Usually from old fluid. Flush the system. When the brakes get hot the moisture expands and locks the brakes.

It sounds like your brake pads are wearing crooked and that's causing the pistons to hang up in their bores.  Inspect your brake pads and replace them if they're worn crooked.
