I have a 73, 350, automatic, L82, Power Brakes. I was cruisin down the road at about 40 mph, was approaching my turn, and the brake pedal was flopping loose, not connected to anything! I put it into low gear, which slowed me down enough to turn and limped home very slowly the last 3 blocks. Anyway, when I ordered a new pin retainer, I lined up the holes in the clevis and brake pedal, inserted the pin and retainer, but the pedal is now down too low. The brake lights are constantly on, and the pedal will not return high enough to turn the lights off. Why would the pedal now be lower than it was before?
