When I bought my vette the paint was rough  Sad. I did a 3 stage wet sanding about 6 weeks ago starting with 1000 grit then 1500 and finishing with 2000 grit, used a high speed buffer and compound then a swirl remover then wax. Yesterday it was time to get her looking sweet again so I reached into my array of detailing tools and found my Mequiers Deep Paint cleaner using the big wheel buffer then Mequiers Nano wax and boy is she slick and wet looking.

Alot of elbow grease but the final product cancels out the work. So if the weather permits, get out and get your Vette ride ready for spring and summer!

No T-Top, it's an Astro Top, one piece acrylic. Best of both worlds, light shines in without cooking your head. I haven't taken it out in the 2 months that I've had it. Easy install though it does squeak a little bit with the body flexing but some felt tamed that down a lot.

No base coat, clear coat. It really is a poorly prepped paint job by a previous owner that my best guess is they used an acrylic paint and mixed in a quart of clear coat. The paint code shows the car was Classic White but it seems someone tried to do a Monza Red paint but many areas were curling up with missing paint from dust or debris on the surface when it was sprayed. I was surprised the wet sanding did as much as it did and has put off a paint job for a year or two, at least I hope. I've been working on this car non-stop from November 23rd 2009 until a few weeks ago and I want to enjoy driving it so sticking it in a paint shop for a month or two wasn't something I was looking forward to doing , plus I blew the paint budget on other parts for the car and the engine.

Thanks for the kind words, it just proves you reap what you sow, the more work you put into something the more you get in return.
