Are you talking about replacing the cover itself retaining the backside support or replacing the entire panel? I replaced mine with reproduction panel assemblies from Ecklers. It's a pretty easy job. A few screws along the bottom and latch side. Two screws for the interior door handle pull, window crank for manual windows and the door lock if manual has a C styled clip behind it that has to be removed then lift the panel upward with the window down and it should come off. Then hold the door opener outward a bit and move the panel forward, if you have power windows you'll need to disconnect the wire harness at this point.

I was thinking of buying just the door panel skins that glue to your old door panel. They are sold by corvette america for about $70.00 each.

Ive done them a few times.First try to obtain a few pieces of vinyl and a heat gun . Its not too easy, you have to kinda plan an attack. First make sure the door panel is clean, spray the adhesive and dont overdo it. when you feel its time to go for it,lay the vinyl down over the top and bottom.these are used to keep the whole panel from gluing together unitentionally.line the pieces up and start to go for it pressing the center together and work out.As you reach the vinyl, pull it out and work panel down.Use heat to soften and become easier to work.Take your time.If you cant get vinyl attempt to find a sheet or something somewhat nonstick so it could be tugged out.Rub panel for a little while to get it to really adhere.
Also forgot to mention you need some type of tucking tool.Something dull but stiff.I use a dulled out rounded off putty knife. Its rigid and thin enough to force the vinyl down into tight spaces.Good luck!
