I have a 73 Corvette coupe that is holding water in the floor
boards. expecially in the passenger side. In the rain it will fill
the floor. I removed the windshield mldgs and much to my
suprise, NO RUST, so good news. I have taken the right side
dash off of the car and uesd a spray bottle and the windshield
and there are no leaks. But water is coming in under the cowl
area or maybe the fender? Can't locate the source from the outside.
Looking from under the dash, the water will drop down from above
the air duct vent on the right side and drip in the area of the hazzard
flasher. The leak has otten worse over the years and have become
intolerable. This has to be a common problem with the C3, Please Help!

Hey I had the same kind of problem, drove me nuts.  I found two hoses off the rear vents over rear wheels from the interior to the outside in the wheel housing, they where shot.  Water into rear vents into hoses right into interior floor, instant swimming pool.  Just tilt seat froward and take a look.  Hope this helps with your plumping problem. Also check the RH vent behind the kuck panel cover under right side of the dash.  If the drain going down to the ricker panel is clogged up it may drain OK when it is a light rain or quick wash but fill up and run into the floor board through the vent when you have a downpour or heavy wash with lots of water!

Ditto the RH vent on the Kick panel. 
If the drain is partially clogged at the bottom of the fender, it will drain some, and not fill up the area below the vent in a light rain or with a spray bottle.  But if you bump a lot of water along the edge of the windshield with a heavy or continuous rain or a garden hose it will fill the lower fender drain and overflow into the right hand side passenger floor.

Clean out your drains! Grin
