Okay all, I've pulled the engine & while it's out I'd like to do some work to the trans. Here's a short list of needs.

I need the seal(s) for the shifting shafts that go through the side case. Are they O-Rings???

I need a side case gasket.

I need the speedo gear. Mine has the 90 degree adapter & looks like there is a small shaft that drives the gear which would have a square section on one end & a webbed section on the other end. It's completely missing.  I'll get photos of the housing & gear in the morning & post them. Hopefully someone has been down this road.

check your 90* adaptor and see if it has a gear ratio or is 1:1.  Big difference!  As far as trani gaskets, I got a kit from Summit for mine.  It was cheap and I needed the shifter seals, front gasket and rear seal too.  Easiest way to R&R shifter seals is with side cover off anyway but must replace cover with everything including shift handles in place on side cover.  Also, must shift into second to remove side cover.  Not as bad as it sounds if you do it right and I am NO expert!

If you only want specific seals or gaskets, message back your location and I have recommndations for east, west coasts or Chicago area.  I have had great support from shops depending on what part I needed.

I'll do the Summit package & get all of them. I also want to replace the yoke with new. I had replaced the seal on the rear cone some time ago & it still leaks pretty bad. I assume the yoke sealing surface is worn out but I haven't pulled out the yoke to check. Thanks for the direction on the seals needed. I hope I can figure out which lever puts it into second gear LOL.

I had some problems with the shift seal levers and ended up buying extras from these guys:

They also are the ones who suggested I do them from the back.  The problem was the steel seals were harder than the aluminum casing and it was difficult getting them not to bite the sides AND go around the shifter housing.  MUCH easier from the back but note side cover reinstall instructions!  I had two shops tell me I was the first time they ever heard of anyone breaking the detant (sp?) lever!  Good luck!
