Thinking about doing a 4 Speed swap in my 70 Vette. Which 4 speed is the best one to put in(reliable & tough)? A Guy in my area has a 74 Vette with a 75 Vette 4 speed in it. He or I know what 4 speed it is, anyway to tell? Also, will the clutch & brake pedal assembly fit? Will The rear differential and drive axles fit? I know they used bigger u-joints in the four speeds. Or can I just change the yokes on my diff and just buy the drive axles and the hubs? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I will be doing a auto to manual swap as well. The pedals are from a 72, using the same x member and driveshaft but with a yoke for a manual trans. My car was originally equipped with a TH350 but now has a 2004R (same driveshaft). As far as a trans I would look into a Tremec if you are making decent hp and drive hard. I will be using a Richmond 5 speed OD trans thats supposed to be rated 600 ft lbs torque and Hopefully it stays together.

My Vette has a Muncie M22 "Rockcrusher" 4 speed. Still some out there but they are getting harder to find.

I have installed Tremec 5-speeds in C-3s it makes a huge difference it has low first gear and over drive for freeway so best of both worlds and super fun to drive. If you go from a 200R4 to a 4-speed your going to miss the over drive.
