I have a 1980 Vette that I just bought a few months ago... when I start the car the choke light is flashing and every time it flashes the engine RPM goes up a little. Asking what may be the problem?  Thanks

Does it have an aftermarket carb on it? When I put my Edelbrock electric choke carb on my '80, the choke light just stays on. It has no effect on the RPM's though. I know the carb works well, just that the light stays on.

Does your Vette have a/c?  If the freon is low it can cause surging or cause the rpms to go up does a bit, off and on.  Don't know if that would affect choke llit, but it may be like Vetteonr's with a aftermarket carb.
