Does anyone have a '73 small block with stock hood and performer RPM intake manifold?  What filter setup did you use to make it fit?

I used to run this setup with my small block. I have a few pics of hood clearance and it was very close. I had a drop base air cleaner of about 2 inches and it worked great. Never once did it ever hit the hood and I was on the gas a few times hard on every trip.

Here is a pic of how much drop is built in the base.


And here is an idea of how much hood clearance I had with my setup.

I have the SBC Edelbrock Performer RPM intake with a 750 Holley....I will be modifying the stock twin snorkel air cleaner to fit......could get ugly!!!.....Fred
